Bristol, UK. September 2021. With over 25 years in sustainability consulting Duncan Oswold, formally Eunomia Consulting, has joined Spherics to take the role of Head of Climate Science. The hire signals real momentum for Spherics, having only recently taken on other senior hires in Rebecca Burgess and Caroline Wilson

Duncan's Experience

Duncan has over 25 years’ experience within the industry, and is now part of Spherics’ rapidly growing team. Between 2017 and 2021 he held the role of Principal Consultant at Eunomia Research & Consulting Limited, having previously managed Ecodyn Ltd, which he founded in 2000.

Duncan’s experience and network across the sustainability ecosystem is vast, having delivered projects for both public and private sector clients such as Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Zero Waste Scotland, Scottish Government, Defra, BEIS, and several local authorities, as well as leading companies including Highland Spring, Gates Power Transmission, 2Sisters, ASDA, Marine Harvest, DS Smith, Sandvik and more.

He is a qualified ESOS Lead Assessor, a Chartered Environmentalist and a Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).  For several years now, Duncan has been primarily involved in the development of Net Zero Transition Plans for corporate clients, and Climate Emergency plans for local and national governments. This work led to the realisation that an automated, scalable solution is required if net zero is to be implemented in time, and across the whole economy, including small businesses that cannot afford consultancy rates.

As Head of Climate Science, Duncan is responsible for ensuring that the Spherics platform delivers a carbon footprint and net zero management platform that reflects industry best practice, and complies with relevant standards such as SBTi, PAS 205x, ISO14064-x, PPN 06/21 and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, all for a tiny fraction of the cost and effort of the conventional approach.

Accademic Titles

  • ESOS Lead Energy Assessor
  • Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv)
  • Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (FIEMA)
  • IEMA Registered Environmental Auditor
  • Certified BRE EcoHomes Assessor
  • MSc Environmental Pollution Control Management (Heriot Watt University)
  • BSc (Hons) Biological Sciences – Zoology (University of Edinburgh)

“Signing Duncan up to support Spherics was the easiest hire I think I will ever make. After seeing the product demo and having a single conversation the partnership was on. It is extremely exciting to have someone with so much direct experience join the team, in his short time he has already laced carbon accounting methodology with academic rigor.”

George Sandilands - Co-founder & CEO - Spherics

"In 25 years of environmental consultancy, Spherics is the only company I have encountered which has developed a solution to get enough business on track to net zero quickly enough. This changes everything. When they asked me to help ensure that it was scientifically robust, I jumped at the chance."

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
