Bristol, UK. September 2022. Today we officially welcome Dan Lewis as a permanent member of the Spherics team. Dan has supported us over the last 9 months as a contractor, and today he becomes Head of Product. The new hire sees Dan's working days increase and future-proofs his position leading the product development team.
Since starting his business career in 2011, Dan has founded 5 companies and built up a significant reputation in fundraising, product management, business development, sales, and marketing within the technology industry.
Highlights include founding of a web development agency that grew from 2 people to 30 in 5 years, and building a product for Sky Sports and Twitter that used sentiment analysis and bootstrapped the development of recruitment platform WeStryve.
Daniel on joining Spherics
Spherics’ goals and mission resonate with me. Everything I’ve been involved with has had an ethical drive and approach behind it. Spherics are trying to help solve a global problem that impacts everyone. As a product person this is a huge challenge that requires innovation and an opportunity in my role to impact something way bigger than myself.
Dan’s role is to help steer the product and to make sure we’re always driving the business mission forward. Dan works with each department to make sure the Spherics team are completely aligned on product approach and direction. Which normally means sitting between the sales and development teams. Dan’s role is to work out what our customers need from the product - and then ensure it gets built! .
CEO & Founder George Sandilands on Dan joining the Team
Having had Dan in the team for the last 6 months we were extremely excited to offer him a permanent role and see him accept! Dan has been a game-changer since joining the team, helping all parts of the business. From my perspective, he massively helps with communication between the sales team and the product team, translating business needs into a feasible product roadmap.
